Admission
Target Audience
ASDEPP courses will be held as intensive courses with typical duration of two weeks. Excercises and examinations will be held by distance learning methods organized by associated lecturers from FAMENA and FE. Exact time schedule and programme of each course will be announced in section News few months before the event. ASDEPP courses target three main groups of students:
a. post-graduate Master of Naval Architecture (MNA) students. Each course could bring 4 ECTS credits. Students are obliged to attend at least one week of lectures. Remaining lectures, excercises and final examinations will be organized using distance learning internet-based methods.
b. PhD students in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. Each course could bring 10 ECTS credits. Students will be obliged to attend at least one week of lectures and to acomplish seminar work. Remaining lectures, excercises, seminar work and final examinations will be organized using distance learning internet-based methods.
c. Naval Architects ( shipyards, design offices, classification societies ...). Naval Architects from industry will be obliged only to attend lectures.
Cost
The cost of ASDEPP courses is entarely covered by EU Tempus Programme. Therefore, registration fees are not required to attend courses and to receive course papers.
Students should make their own arrangements for travel and accomodation, although we can help by providing list of nearby hotels.
Student Selection
12 students will be accepted for each of course. Ideally, 4 students will be from each of groups a., b. and c. above. Among 4 students from each group, 2 will be from Croatia and 2 from foreign countries. In case of interest excceding targeted number of students for each goup, additional selection criteria will be applied according to academic achievements of candidates. Only exceptionally, more than 12 students may be accepted.
How to Apply
If you belong to group a. or b. and wish to participate in some of ASDEPP courses, E-mail should be sent to ASDEPP Secretary with short CV. Please note that for final acceptance, students will need to provide support letter by head of their study, department or research project on which they are working. Engineers from industry sector need to send E-mail with short CV to ASDEPP Secretary in first instance, while for final acceptance they will need to provide support letter of their company.
