Workplan
The Project involves three main tasks, which are interrelated, but each covers a particular facet of the accident information cycle.
- Task 1 – Starting the cycle: gathering and interpretation of accident data. It aims to study the process of eliciting and gathering accident information and the way in which different interpretations may affect the description of the accident.
- Task 2 – Modelling, interpretation and coding of data. It intends to establish current practice concerning accident investigation and analysis and to identify examples of best practice that could be integrated into a standard procedure.
- Task 3 – The use of accident data within the learning process. The goal is to model learning experiences, using statistical analysis of multiple accidents in order to reveal patterns and profiles of accidents and to analyse the implications of these results towards corrective and preventive measures.
