In WP4, the existing and available satellite observations will be treated and prepared as input data for WP5 and WP6. In particular, the main concern will be with remote sensed wind, wave, sea-level and storm surge, as well as ice-sea data.

Observational data from different satellites will be merged and compiled. In the case of the wind data, daily wind fields will be set up. For wave data, the existing algorithms will be validated and transformed into an appropriate format. Sea-level data for the European areas being studied will be treated and compiled. Moreover, the necessary routines to extract sea-level data will be set-up.

A model to obtain ice-sea data will also be set-up for European waters.
