The objective of this task is to establish accurate extreme value distributions for responses of floating structures for a given return period, and with that obtain safe and cost effective design hulls, moorings and risers. Further, it is an objective to develop procedures for determining the ‘exact’ extreme value distributions, and to establish simplified procedures by which the essential aspects of the more complex models are reflected.

The approaches will be applicable in rule development and code calibration purposes, with reliability analysis and design.
