The objective of the work package is to develop probabilistic models of the directional wave environment that are appropriate for load and response analysis of floating structures, their moorings and riser systems. The study will include both short-term and long-term description of waves.

The models will be developed and verified using measured data from different locations such as the Norwegian, British and Dutch sector of the North Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, the West Africa coast and New Zealand. Furthermore, laboratory and model data will be applied.
