Shell International Exploration and Production BV is the EP central office arm of a major international oil company based in Europe. It employs over 1000 staff in The Netherlands. The Research and Technical Services division performs the in-house technical R & D for the upstream operations of SIEP worldwide, except for the USA. The Metocean and Offshore Structures department has experience in all aspects of the design, installation and operation of oil and gas platforms.

As well as direct technical work, SIEP's main contribution will be to ensure that the deliverables of this programme of work are in a form directly relevant to the offshore industry.

Both of the proposed participants from SIEP have many years of experience in met-ocean and engineering R & D in the offshore industry - as well as a wide range of technical publications both in scientific journals and major meetings such as the annual ASME Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering conference.

Its role in the Project is to be the Project co-ordinator and Leader of WP4.
